Exhibition “Torgau. Residence of the Renaissance and Reformation”

Electoral Rule at Hartenfels Castle from the mid-16th to mid-17th Century

The “Torgau. Residence of the Renaissance and Reformation” exhibition on the ground floor of the Albrechtsbau takes visitors back to the period of electoral rule at Hartenfels Castle from the mid-16th century to the end of the Thirty Years’ War (1618 – 1648). The splendour and wealth of the electoral court in Torgau are brought to life by an exquisite selection of items from the extensive armoury collection, which is enriched by works of art from the Green Vault and the Museum of Decorative Arts.
If you visit the next floor of the Albrechtsbau, you’ll find temporary exhibitions on various topics.
