Martin Luther, Katharina von Bora and the Reformation in Torgau

Anfragen
Torgau was once the political centre of the Reformation and the state capital of the Electorate of Saxony. Evidence suggests that Martin Luther visited Torgau around 60 times. The Torgau Articles were developed here as the basis of the Augsburg Confession, Martin Luther consecrated the castle chapel as the first Protestant Church and Luther’s wife Katharina von Bora died here.
