Animal parks and animal enclosures in Torgau and the surrounding area

Watching local and foreign animals, stroking and feeding them, learning something new, eating ice cream and a portion of fries – children don’t need much to experience an exciting day. In Torgau and the surrounding area, five animal enclosures welcome curious visitors.

Torgau Ark

The residents of the Torgau Arche invite you to look, stroke and love on the former site of the State Garden Show. There are, among other things, donkeys, alpacas, sheep and goats to admire. Young families in particular get their money’s worth here.

Next door you can also find a play and climbing park with outdoor fitness equipment, trampoline, table tennis and teqball. A skate park, the oak playground, a beach volleyball court and the “Deichgucker” lookout tower complete the leisure time fun.

Herzberg Zoo (25 km)

The Grochwitzer Park, about 2 km as the crow flies from Herzberger Markt, has been used as the location of a small animal park for almost 30 years. Initially designed purely as a home zoo with deer, fallow deer and domestic animals, more and more exotic animals were added over the years. First raccoon, porcupine or dwarf zebu, later even white-handed gibbons. A new stable for ponies and donkeys was built, several brick outdoor areas for small mammals and the castle for rabbits and guinea pigs.
