Katharina von Bora, Katharina Luther, Ms Käthe or Mr Käthe?
Torgau was of great importance for Katharina von Bora in two ways. This is where she began her life after escaping from the monastery. And she also died here around 30 years later. The house where she died is located on Katharinenstrasse 11, featuring the only memorial dedicated to her in Germany. The exhibition in the Renaissance house contains biographical highlights that tell of her eventful life by the side of the world-famous reformer, underlining her courage and strong personality.
