Culture Bastion (KAP)
The Kulturbastion, Torgau’s alternative cultural center, is located in a former flanking casemate that belonged to the Saxon state fortress of Torgau. Whether cabaret, comedy, concerts, live music, open-air events or cinema, the calendar of events leaves nothing to be desired.

Castle chapel
With the castle chapel, the first new Protestant church to be built, Martin Luther’s ideas were architecturally implemented. The church building offers an appropriate framework for sophisticated church music, which is still cultivated in Torgau today, and offers space for around 180 people.

City Church of St. Mary
The town church of St. Marien, visible from afar, is the oldest church in Torgau. It was built in 1119 and was converted into a late Gothic hall church in the 14th century. Her Schuster organ has 40 registers and offers up to 700 listeners an overwhelming sound experience in the great acoustics of the church.

Former superintendent
In the historical superintendency, thematic workshops for children and young people are offered on the world of values, which is also the focus of the multimedia exhibition. Various special exhibitions, readings, discussion rounds or projects are also on the programme.

Whether it’s an over 40 party, comedy, cabaret, musical, folk music or New Year’s Eve gala – the annual program of the Kreiskulturhaus Torgau is demanding and offers something for every taste. The offer of the Torgau Kultur e.V. association is supplemented by open-air events in the courtyard of Hartenfels Castle.
